Lively peasant festivals, knights on horseback, merry hunting scenes and mist-shrouded forests. Experience all of this and more when you witness the sweeping sonorities of Bruckner’s Fourth, which draws as its inspiration the imagery of medieval romance, as well as other inclusions during a very special concert featuring Eschenbach and Josefowicz. Be sure to get your tickets in advance for this event next Thursday, February 28th!

Eschenbach, Mahler, and the Houston Symphony is a combination that made the world take note, and the audience will hear why when the beloved former Music Director returns for Mahler’s extraordinary farewell symphony, an all-encompassing musical drama that ends with a breathtaking descent into rapt silence. Salonen’s Violin Concerto is performed by the violinist who inspired it: the fiery and fearless Leila Josefowicz.

During the 2018–19 season, the Houston Symphony celebrates its fifth season with Music Director Andrés Orozco-Estrada and continues its second century as one of America’s leading orchestras with a full complement of concert, community, education, touring and recording activities. The Houston Symphony, one of the oldest performing arts organizations in Texas, is the largest performing arts organization in Houston.

Tickets to see Eschenbach and Josefowicz begin at $25 and may be purchased online or by phone at (713) 224-7575. Repairs to mitigate the damage sustained to the Theater District Underground Garage during Hurricane Harvey are now underway, and as a result, fewer parking spots are available. It is suggested you arrive earlier than usual to secure a parking space in the Theater District Green Garage.
